Shoshanat HaCarmel

Shoshanat HaCarmel 2027

Friday, 14 May 2027. We meet at the Horvat Hermesh parking, right by the Elyakim interchange, and ride off at 7:00. The route file will be published closer to the date. After the ride you're invited to a spread and a toast in Avi's memory. Avi Avdi (1973–2023) was a work friend and constant riding partner of Itai Ha'levi, who builds the route. As Avi liked to say: “Turbo, full power”.

The 2026 route, as the organizer describes it: a warm-up on easy climbs, a fast run along the Carmel scenic road, and after the Valley Squadron lookout a climb to Mount Shokef on lesser-known connections. Then the Nahal Bustan singletrack descents, a proper “luna park”, and back to the parking via the Maharal valley and Makura Ranch. A varied route, partly on lesser-known trails.

The map and profile show the 2026 route. The 2027 file will be published closer to the date, and the route may change.

Good to know

Getting to the parking

In Waze: “Horvat Hermesh parking”. Leave at the Elyakim interchange towards Daliyat al-Karmel, and turn right onto the dirt right after the Sonol petrol station, about 4 minutes from the interchange. If you follow Waze, carry on along the dirt for another 300–400 m.

Mountain bike or gravel?

According to the organizer, most of the 2026 route suits gravel bikes too. The Bustan singletrack descents have a slightly rocky section that an experienced rider will manage.

After the ride

Avi's family and friends wait at the parking with a spread and a toast in his memory. Keep to the times so you don't miss it.

Gallery

Thanks to Itai Ha'levi, who builds the route, and to the Avdi family and friends, who host the spread at the end.
